This week in my articulation class KIWI we are working on the letter /b/! During centers, we read the story "Bossy Bear." I had all of the students say "bossy bear" with me when it came up on the page. We also have a board full of letters where the students can bring in environmental print for our letter of the week.
In our parent center, we have a bin with blue rice that contains all different objects that start with /b/ (like a bunny, boat, ball, etc.).
In one of our centers, we have a bunch of cool vintage boxes. Inside, are objects that the children will practice saying. The words go with their specific IEP goals.
In our other center, we have a cool bee game that is like kerplunk. The students practiced minimal pairs that went with their IEP goals, then they got to pull a leaf out.
Here is the homework that we gave: The students can color the pictures that all start with /b/, and then paste them under the sentence. Then they can practice saying the sentence. There are so many /b/ words in each sentence!
